The George E Ravenhall Writing Competition

is open to all students from Years One to Nine.

 

The competition encourages imagination, innovation and creativity. Stories submitted must be an original piece of prose writing, no poetry or scripts. Entries must be the sole work of the student, not copied from other works and they must be typewritten.

Any entry not following these rules will be disqualified. 

Entry is limited to one per student.

Are you ready to embark on a magical journey through the power of words? Do you believe in the enchanting spirit of Christmas? Well, here's your chance to share your wishes, dreams, and heartfelt sentiments with none other than the jolly old man himself, Santa Claus! Welcome to the Santa Letter Writing Competition, where creativity knows no bounds, and the possibilities are as limitless as your imagination.

1. Write Your Letter: Craft a heartwarming, creative letter to Santa Claus. Pour your hopes, dreams, and wishes onto the page.
   
2. Format Your Letter: Be sure to include your name, age, and school year on the top of your letter. Your letter should be typed or neatly handwritten.

Judging

 

All entries received will be read by a judge.

A short list will be drawn from the entries and placed online.

Winners for each category will include the People’s Choice and Judge’s Choice.

 

This is a creative writing competition and entries will be judged on the originality of the themes,

the development of the story and the quality of the writing.

Any entry exceeding the word limit will be disqualified.
